The requirement of a Gas Safety Certificate is another legal requirement for all landlords to ensure the properties they let are safe and do not present a risk to their tenants.

As a Landlord it is your responsibility to provide your tenants with an up-to-date Gas Safety Inspection Certification at the commencement of the tenancy. The Gas Safety Cert indicates the property has been inspected by a qualified gas engineer and all appliances are safe for use.

By law, landlords must have all gas appliances serviced regularly, normally once a year by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The Gas Safe registered engineer will provide a Gas Safety Inspection report upon completion of the inspection.
